Types of WAFF membership

1. Individual Member

Individual membership is for physical persons, that is individuals participants.
An individual person can become WAFF Member:
a)  After participation in WAFF evoluation system in WAFF Championships or Festivals.
b)  Without paritcipation in WAFF evoluation system in WAFF Championships or Festivals - fill online application.

* The applicant may indicate non competition festival or competiton festival in which participated. Indicating the coordinates of the main organizers. WAFF team will send a letter of confirmation of their participation in the festival. After categorizing the festival, the applicant will be able to obtain the relevant poins in World Rank List of Folklore.

2. Collective Member

Collective, (Groups, Institutional) membership is for juridical entities, that is schools, companies, amateur groups, federations, associations, foundations, business enterprises etc. can become WAFF Collective Member:
a)  After participation in WAFF evoluation system in WAFF Championships of Festivals.
b)  Without paritcipation in WAFF evoluation system in WAFF Championships or Festivals - fill online application.

* Activation of membership and activation profile on the official website of WAFF, to fill in the online application.

* The applicant may indicate non competition - festival or competiton festival in which participated. Indicating the coordinates of the main organizers. WAFF team will send a letter of confirmation of their participation in the festival. After categorizing the festival, the applicant will be able to obtain the relevant poins in World Rank List of Folklore.

3. Completitive Festival Member

Competitive Festival Members are institutions - companies, federations, associations, foundations, business enterprises etc. who are closely connected to WAFF and contribute actively to its aims. Competitive Festival Member can be authorized organiser of event with using of evaluation system of WAFF. Participants in this events are entitled to be included with the World Ranking List of folklore and published on the official website of WAFF. Festival, Championship is categorized by rank, as required by the council. Application for membership is on the official website of WAFF - fill online application.

4. Non-competitive Festival Member

Non-competitive Festival Members are institutions - companies, federations, associations, foundations, business enterprises etc. who are closely connected to WAFF and contribute actively to its aims.  Non-competitive Festival Member is authorized organizer of event with or without using of evaluation system of WAFF (festivals non competative character). One or more of participants, group or individual in this events are entitled to be included in the World Ranking List of folklore and published on the official website of WAFF. Festival is categorized by rank, as required by the council. Application for membership is on the official website of WAFF - fill  online application.

5. Honorary Member

Honorary Members are persons who have rendered very important services to WAFF. They take part in Congress, without voting rights.

General rules

The title of "Member of World Association of Folklore Festivals - WAFF" is to be used only after the name of WAFF Members, after receiving a letter of confirmation of membership, and only during the period mentioned in that letter.

Documents of WAFF (letters, certificates etc.) are valid only when signed by the President of WAFF, and stamped by the WAFF.

Events of WAFF (classes, workshops, championships, festivals, competitions etc.) organized by WAFF Members are authorized by WAFF. Letter of endorsement is sent in those casess.

An event authorized by WAFF:

  1. An event authorized by WAFF can use Ranking system of WAFF.
  2. Participants in the event can be included in the World Ranking List of Folklore - (WRLF). The event can use the WAFF logo.
  3. The event can ask for subsidy from the Municipality, the Ministry of Culture and other public funds.
  4. The event, bearing the prestigious authorization of WAFF, will have better access to sponsors.
  5. The WAFF promote Members to attend the event.
  6. A link is placed in the WAFF website for events.
  7. An official representative of WAFF will be indicate to attend if invited.
  8. An official WAFF Jury, can be indicate to attend if invited.

WAFF is a members' organization: it provides services to professionals or amateurs involved in all forms of folklore, by mobilizing its members around the world.
